About the Role
This position will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of this business unit whilst also supporting our wider hazardous material management business. The role will involve a combination of site based and office work depending on operational requirements and will work closely with the Asbestos and Contaminated Materials Manager to ensure all processes, systems and procedures are diligently adhered to.

Key Position Duties
Main duties consist of the following:

  • Supervision of both A and B Class Asbestos and Contaminated Materials removal projects.
  • Project management or site management of asbestos and contaminated materials projects.
  • Daily planning and management of Asbestos & Contamination Materials work crews and equipment.
  • Presentation of daily toolbox talks specific to tasks and high risk activities.
  • The development, application and submission where required of project plans including but not limited to SWMS, AR1, AR2, AR4 and other documents specific to regulatory authorities.
  • Assist with the preparation of Quotations for asbestos removal projects and ensure their completion to budget and in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Provide mentoring and support to asbestos removalists.
  • Auditing sites and developing asbestos registers to submit to clients.

  • Understand revenue and costs for projects quotation purposes and project management.
  • The ability to lead by example and provide training to less experienced asbestos removalists.
  • Participate in estimating asbestos and demolition removal projects.
  • To understand any potential for providing value added services to existing customer base.
  • Works with management to increase the environmental opportunities that will maximise revenue and provide long term sustainability.

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience dealing with complex asbestos removals and asbestos contaminated sites
  • Relevant environmental project training or experience
  • Occupational Hygienist qualifications
  • Good judgement, and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines
  • Contribute as a positive and professional team member
